I’ve had a lot of conversations with AI experts from the past several years.
At one point in time there was a AI who had a great idea of how to train the machine to recognize a human voice (they just couldn’t), which would then be the voice of the AI in the future machine learning would use to learn a voice language. That, in turn, would cause the AI to recognize different words to a human voice.
Although it seems like a very good idea to me, it seems a bit backwards to me. Why would we want to train machine to recognize human voices if we cant train them to recognize different words? The more logical solution is to train machines to recognize different words, so they can then recognize different human voices. If we did that, we could train machines to recognize different voices, so we would have a different voice for each person.
I’m not sure what you mean by ai, but I agree with you that machine learning is a very good idea. In fact, I think you should use machine learning to make more sense of our world.
machine learning is a lot like what I used to call the “algorithmic way of thinking”. If we could train machines to recognize different words, we could then train machines to recognize different people. By training machines to recognize different words, we can train machines to recognize different people, which would in turn give us more ways to distinguish between people.
That’s a really good idea but we already did that with facial recognition. Machines might be able to use facial recognition to distinguish between people, but they are still in the “algorithmic way of thinking” because they are not actually human at all. They are just machines, which I think is a better way.
This might not be as much of a problem if people really understood each other, but the problem is that most people don’t actually talk to each other, except maybe on a videochat. We’re in a “social loop” where people act as if they are talking to each other through social media and then they just get more and more nervous, which makes the whole thing even more awkward.
Like, every time someone calls me and asks for money, I end up drinking a lot of vodkas. This happens almost every time I’ve called a friend or person that I’ve been talking to. A lot of this is because some of the people who have been calling me are actually making it seem like they’re talking on the phone, and that makes them even more nervous because if you can just talk to a person, they really do talk to you.
It’s a sad fact of life that we talk to most people on the phone and even though we know most people are talking to us, we often have to just wait for our real life friend to respond to the phone call before we can get a chance to chat. And then we waste three minutes of our lives.
It’s sad but true and one of the things that makes life so much more difficult than it would be if we didn’t have the option of calling a friend is that we’re so dependent on a conversation. Even if we know that we can’t be contacted on a certain phone number, we can still rely on our friends to answer the phone and even if we’re talking about something totally unrelated, we still feel the need to engage our friends.
